For those of you who wish to “Find peace through Prayer” The book, Into the Deep, by Dan Burke might be just the ticket. The forward reads:

Prayer is difficult, joyful, challenging, and life-changing. The journey into prayer, into the heart of God is the reason we were made; it is the reason God brought us into existence. Matthew Kelly

In the first Chapter, if you would be a person of prayer you could: Overcome tribulation

  • Peacefully endure the way of affliction
  • Live joyfully in the work of God
  • Uproot vice and sin

There is such rich, practical, easy to read content in this book. Look for a copy in the vestibule. These books are given to Holy Family kindness of Chris Ferguson.

The Catholic Foundation is here to help and is dedicated to the to inspire and facilitate financial planning and giving that promotes the Gospel, transforms lives and glorifies God. If you have questions, please contact Finegan at 303.867.0613.

In 1839, St. Jeanne Jugan recognized the presence of Jesus Christ in the person of an elderly, blind and infirmed woman who suddenly found herself alone and in great need. Jeanne carried her home and placed her in her own bed. The Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Poor was thus born from this single hidden act of Hospitality. Rooted in their Baptism, the sisters resolve to follow Christ through the evangelical counsels of Poverty, Chastity, Obedience and Hospitality; to encounter Christ in prayer, to serve Him in the poor with love, that is the life of the Little Sisters. The Sisters are an international Congregation with 176 homes in 31 countries. The elderly are welcomed as Jesus Christ would be and they journey with the sisters until the Lord calls them home. Presently at the Mullen Home, located at 26th & Lowell Blvd., we care for 65 residents. Thanks to the generosity of our benefactors and friends, we were able to celebrate 100 years of service of the poor in Denver, Colorado last year.

FYI:   Recently someone was surprised that there was a Poor Box on the left near the holy water font at the entrance of the Church. Apparently we need to have mentioned that  on a regular basis. Please be aware that the funds collected from this Poor Box go to the needy of the neighborhood/church.
